Just a reference note:
1950/60 - AWG 43 PE wire - 8,000 CCW winds - 7.7k - Alnico 5 - South polarity 1960/70 - AWG 43 PE wire - 7,800 CCW winds - 6.9k - Alnico 5 - South polarity
1953 - South polarity on both pickups RW/RP in late 70’s

Shielding a Telecaster
Telecasters hum, there are no two ways about it. The nature of a single coil pickup generates cycle-hum, this is one of the man reasons Seth Lover invented the Humbucker. I was preparing a page on the new Creamery site explaining how to shield the cavities of a tele, and the reasons why but someone got there before me - by quite a long time as well. Here it is, and its invaluable information.

Just some of the pickup collection
A couple of Humbuckers, Telecaster Bridge & Neck pickups and a P90 before potting. Vintage cloth pushback leads for the single coils and braided pushback for the Humbuckers. I’m having the pickups professionally shot for the site but here’s a quick pic of just some of the range prior to going live.

Just added frets to the latest neck then got into a conversation about old times - oh the things we once did and how we looked back then.
Do you think “Lynx: The smell of rare leathers” can take away the stench of wood oil? Its a toss up I know.

Introducing The Fencepost Guitar - Made from an...
I know, I know, the idea of a single pickup guitar seems a little old fashioned nowadays but fact is, a one pickup guitar strips away all the frills and furniture until you’re left with nothing but a little room, a bare bulb and single window. Its up to the player, tonewise, to see what sounds thay can coax out of it.
Saying that, ‘The Fencepost’ here is a pretty versatile...
Working on new Jazzmaster & Gibson Explorer style guitars. Templates made, bodies routed - now for the finishing.
Tip of the day: Don’t change tracks on the stereo whilst soldering, it can hurt like hell.
